There has been a lot of rumors around the internet about the new Arsenal kit, but it was finally revealed
and put on sale on July 29th and we love it!
The new 2010/2011 home and away Arsenal football shirts are a retro design based on the clubs 1970s shirt. The home shirt is made up of a block red body with white round neck collar and white sleeves with the Arsenal motto “Victoria, Concordia, Crescit” printed on the inside of the shirt. The away shirt is based on a similar design with Midwest Gold/Yellow for the body which also has red currant pinstripes running down the shirt and same coloured cuff style sleeves.
But not only does it look good, the technology that went into creating this shirt is pretty amazing! As part of Nikes Considered Design program, each shirt is created using recycled polyester which has been derived from eight plastic bottles. Not only does this help the environment, the whole manufacturing process add many other advantages.
The shirt itself is 13% lighter than other shirts and the double knit structure gives the shirt 10% more stretch (it’ll be interesting to see what effect this has with all the shirt puller in the game today!). The structure of the shirt also keeps the wearer cool and dry with specially designed vents on either side to allow greater breath ability.
